Vorticella campanula is a unicellular cell from the family of the bell animals (Vorticellidae). The species can be found in only slightly polluted waters, where itlivesattached to aquatic plants and animals. It feeds on bacteria .
features
Vorticella campanula is 50 to 150 micrometers in size and bell-shaped. The peristome disk has a transverse diameter that is 0.75 to 1.25 times the body height. The stem is up to 700 micrometers long and relatively thick with a width of 8 to 12 micrometers. It contracts in spirals. The species does not form colonies.
