The Vorweg Point is a headland on the Graham Coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . In the northeast of the Velingrad Peninsula , it is northwest of Huitfeldt Point on the southwestern bank of the Barilari Bay .
Participants of the British Graham Land Expedition (1934-1937) led by the Australian polar explorer John Rymill mapped them. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in the wrong spelling in 1959 after the German skiing pioneer Oscar Vorwerg (1841-1916), author of the 1893 book Das Schneeschulaufen , probably the first manual of skiing .
