The Vossloh DE 12 is a four-axle diesel-electric locomotive from the manufacturer Vossloh , which is designed for heavy shunting and light mainline service. It was built in several copies from 2012. The locomotives have the number 92 80 4125 in the German vehicle settings register.

development

As a further development of the MaK DE 1002 to MaK DE 1004 , these locomotives were built by Vossloh in Kiel in 2012 . Compared to its predecessors, the new locomotive design is manufactured in accordance with TSI and can therefore be used across Europe.

With this type of locomotive, Vossloh has also launched a diesel-hydraulic variant called the G 12 on the market. The DE 12 was presented at InnoTrans 2012. As a result of adaptations to new railway regulations, the type is described as a representative of the fifth generation of Mak and Vossloh locomotives . The new naming scheme expresses the engine power divided by 100.

technology

The construction of the DE12 series is designed for heavy maneuvering and light route operation according to the aspects of the particularly economical and fail-safe point of view. This tried and tested construction from the previous machines has been revised according to the principles of the latest European standards. The locomotive frame and the DE 12 superstructures are designed in accordance with the crash standard EN 15227 and thus offer even more safety for the locomotive personnel in the event of an accident.

The eight-cylinder four-stroke diesel engine 8V 4000 R43 (L) from MTU was used as the drive motor . This engine is designed according to the EU Stage IIIA emissions standard. A soot particle filter can also be used for an even greater reduction in exhaust emissions .

The power transmission is diesel-electric by means of three-phase drive technology . The wheel sets are fitted with disc brakes .

commitment

Five copies of the series were completed in 2012/2013. One example was presented at InnoTrans. This locomotive is still owned by the manufacturer, the other four machines went to BASF and were given the designations DE 20 to DE 23 .

The locomotive has the number 92 80 4125 in the German vehicle settings register.
