The Vrchlice dam (Vodní nádrž Vrchlice) is the only dam in the Czech Republic , the one arch dam of concrete has a shut-off.
It is located near Malešov in the Okres Kutná Hora in Central Bohemia, about 60 km southeast of Prague . There it dams the river Vrchlice . The dam is located north of Malešov at the foot of the Písečný vrch.
history
The dam was built between 1966 and 1971. The village of Stará Lhota , which belongs to Vidice , and several mills were flooded by the traffic jam .
