Until December 31, 2006, Forst was a political municipality in the former administrative district of Thun in the canton of Bern in Switzerland .
Effective January 1, 2007, Forst merged with Längenbühl to form the new municipality of Forst-Längenbühl .
geography
The place is a scattered settlement in the moraine landscape of the upper Gürbe valley. The main districts are the Dörfli , Allmid (Allmend), chromene , Längmoos and Riedhubel . 79.7% of the former municipal area of 185 hectares was used for agriculture. 11.8% is covered by forest and wood and only 8.0% is settlement area.

At the beginning of 2005 the community had 357 inhabitants. Of these, 341 (= 95.52%) were Swiss citizens and 16 immigrants from abroad.
