Fahrni is a municipality in the Thun administrative district in the canton of Bern in Switzerland .
geography

The place is in the hilly area on the heights between the Rotacher- and the Zulgtal . The community consists of numerous hamlets and individual farms. The most important settlements are the Dörfli , Äschlisbühl , Bach , Embergboden , Lueg and Rachholtern . 68.8% of the entire 668 hectare community area is used for agriculture. Another 25.5% is covered by forest and wood and 4.6% is settlement area. The highest point of the community is the Lueghubel, on which a memorial in the form of a surveying pyramid was built in 1999/2000 in honor of Eduard Imhof , who was entitled to live by Fahrni.

At the beginning of 2005 the community had 721 inhabitants. Of these, 708 (= 98.20%) were Swiss nationals and 13 were immigrants from abroad.
politics
Mayor is Stefan Althaus (as of 2019).
The voting shares of the parties on the occasion of the 2015 National Council election were: SVP 52.6%, BDP 13.9%, SP 10.2%, GPS 5.6%, FDP 4.7%, EDU 4.1%, glp 3.8 %, EVP 3.0%, CVP 0.8%.
