Hilterfingen is a municipality in the Thun administrative district in the canton of Bern in Switzerland .

The villages on the right bank of Lake Thun, to which Hilterfingen and Hünibach belong, are often referred to as the Gold Coast or the Riviera of Lake Thun because of their attractive location. Hünegg Castle and the Eichbühl country house from the second half of the 19th century are among the most impressive buildings on Lake Thun. Another country estate, the Chartreuse , was demolished in 1901.

The place consists of the two districts of Hünibach and Hilterfingen-Dorf and lies on the right bank of Lake Thun and has grown together with the neighboring communities of Thun and Oberhofen. The municipal boundary to Thun runs from the Aare north of the Chartreuse past the Hünibach , this and then in a south-easterly direction along the upper end of the Hilterfingen and Tannenbühl forest . From the farmstead Im Saali, head south-west down to Lake Thun. The stream of the same name flows through the district of Hünibach, while the stream that flows through Hilterfingen is simply called Dorfbach . The Louelibach separates the two districts from each other. Almost half of the community area of 280 ha, namely 47.0%, is covered by forest and wood. Another 40.5% is settlement area and only 10.4% of the municipal area is used for agriculture. The remaining square meters are unproductive space.
