Vrelo Bune , also called Bunaquelle, is a karst spring in Blagaj , south of Mostar in the south of Bosnia and Herzegovina . It is the strongest source in the country and one of the largest in Europe .
description
The Buna , a nine-kilometer-long tributary of the Neretva, rises from the karst spring at the mouth of the cave at the foot of a 200 m high rock face . The average flow is 43,000 l / s; However, this is strongly dependent on the weather and the season and fluctuates between 3000 and 123,000 l / s. The water is seven to eight degrees Celsius and gushes out of a cave below a steep, 200 m high rock.
The spring impressed a Turkish sultan so much that he had a dervish monastery built there in the 18th century . The three-story stone building is located on the right bank of the source lake, a wide bay window towers over the lake so that you can reflect yourself in the water. The lake is bordered by a 2 m high, horseshoe-shaped waterfall, which flows into the 10 m wide river.
