Vukan (Raszien)

Vukan (also Bolkan ; * around 1080; † 1114 ) ruled as a Serbian prince from around 1080 to 1114.

Vukan was used by Konstantin Bodin , king of Dioclitia , for the Župan of Raszien . After the death of Konstantin Bodin, the focus of early Serbia shifted inland, to Raszien. Vukan became the most important prince of Rascia, led wars against Byzantium and had a decisive influence on the kingdom of Dioclitia. He was finally defeated by Byzantium around 1114, followed by his son Uroš as Župan von Raszien around 1118.
