Władysław Floriański

Władysław Floriański (also: Florjanski ; * May 4, 1854 in Lemberg ; † April 11, 1911 ibid) was a Polish singer (tenor) and opera director.

Floriański attended the Commercial Academy and worked as a postal worker in Brzeżany. After attending the Opera School of J. Dobrzański, he made his debut in 1884 at the Lviv Theater. In 1885 he went on a study trip to Italy with a scholarship. In 1886 he appeared at the Warsaw Opera as Radames in Verdi's Aida and Lyonel in Friedrich von Flotow's Martha .

Since he was assumed to have insufficient vocal training, he did not receive a contract in Warsaw, but was engaged for ten years (1887–1897) at the National Theater in Prague . In 1898 he performed as a lieder singer at the Warsaw Teatr Wielki . In 1902 he became a director at the Warszawskie Teatry Rządowe . From 1906 until the end of his life he worked as a singer and director at the Lviv Opera.
