The W. Markgraf GmbH & Co KG is a German construction company based in Upper Franconia Bayreuth . The company employs around 970 people and achieved a construction output of over 465 million euros in 2018. The company is active throughout Germany and in eight other European countries.

The company was originally founded in Eger in 1932 , and was re-established in 1946 under the current name. The main focus of activity is in the area of ​​general building construction as a general contractor for the construction of hotels, administration buildings, residential complexes, industrial construction, logistics, commercial real estate ( turnkey construction ), in civil engineering in the areas of railway construction, civil engineering, line construction and road construction. Markgraf has its own asphalt mixing plant, its own precast plant for structural steel and prestressed concrete precast elements and its own steel construction.

The long-standing chairman of the four-person management, Gerhard Markgraf , was an honorary member of the board of the Bavarian construction industry association until his death on September 29, 2012 . On March 18, 2015, the managing director Rainer W. Markgraf, founder of the Rainer Markgraf Foundation , died at the age of 58.
