W5 is a Russian sports organization based in Bratislava ( Slovakia ) and Moscow ( Russia ).

The first kickboxing tournament as part of the W5 took place on July 5, 2007 and was attended by around 5000 spectators. Since then, over 30 tournaments a.o. have been held under the auspices of W5 funding. a. in Vienna, Bratislava, Ingolstadt , Budva (Montenegro), Minsk , Moscow, Ryazan , Orel , Kalyazin.

aims

The aims of the W5 are to spread kickboxing as a form of martial art in Russia and around the world, to promote healthy lifestyles in young people and to motivate athletes for continuous self-development and self-improvement.

regulate

The first tournaments of the W5 were held according to K-1 rules and the rules of the Army Combat System Bars . Later rules of their own were developed.

Round

The fight runs over three rounds of three minutes each. If no winner has been determined after three rounds, an additional round is fought.

Title fights for the World Champion belt, Intercontinental Champion and European Champion belt are each scheduled for five rounds. The break between the rounds is one minute.

Rating System

The ten-point scoring system is used. Three judges evaluate the individual rounds.

The winner of the round receives ten points, the loser receives nine or fewer points.

Ring rules (excerpt)

  • Leg sweeps and throws are prohibited.
  • Clinching longer than a second is prohibited.
  • Backhand strikes are allowed.
  • Grasping and holding the opponent's leg with an immediate hit technique or a knee strike is permitted.
  • Knee kicks are allowed.
  • The rule of a maximum of three precipitation applies.

Weight classes

Men fight in weight classes up to 60, up to 67, up to 71, up to 75, up to 81, up to 84 and over 90 kg.

Women fight in the weight classes up to 54 and up to 56 kg.
