WEDAL

The WEDAL ( We st d erm A nbindungs l ine) is a 319 km long natural gas pipeline in Germany, of Gascade is operated.

The North Sea gas arrives at Zeebrugge on the Belgian coast via the interconnector , the pipeline connection between Great Britain and the continent . It is routed to Eynatten via the network of the Belgian operator Fluxys ; From there to Germany the WEDAL runs via Aachen , Wuppertal , Soest and Bielefeld to Bad Salzuflen , where the connection to the MIDAL is made southwest of the city via the Lippe compressor station with two gas turbine-driven compressor units with a total output of around 26 megawatts .

The construction of the WEDAL was started in June 1996 by the Wingas group and the pipeline with a diameter of 1000 mm was completed in October 1998 for around 600 million DM. It was put into operation on October 15, 1998.
