WK 13 was a German rock band from Cottbus and a representative of the other bands in the GDR.

history

The band was founded in 1983 in Cottbus. Its name is based on the Cottbus residential complex of the same name WK 13. The founding members were Tobias Richter (vocals, guitar), Frank Schmidt (guitar, bass), Christian Borzutzky (bass) and Detlef Bastian (drums). Keyboardist Lutz "Lu" Schulz joined the band around 1986. In 1985, the title appeared Hannelore on the sampler On the way Vol. 4 at Amiga . In 1988, the same label released the split album Kleeblatt No. 23 - The Other Bands , where WK 13 contributed three tracks as well as Feeling B , Hard Pop and Sandow . Further unpublished titles appeared on the Heimat Kassetten label after the band broke up in the 1990s. The song Sonntag was published again in 1996 on Die DT 64-Story Vol. 7 - Pa-rock-tikum . The title Asphalt was used again in the 2000s on the sampler Against Forgetting, Toward the Nightmare - Part 2! immortalized on cassette at Wahnfried Records.

In 1990 Frank Schmidt, Lutz Schulz and Frank Schmidt founded the band Pückler Enterprise together with Christian Tamske . Lu Schulz then played with Müllerbeat and Big Enemy .
