WNYM-AM (“The Answer”) is a conservative talk radio clear channel station . from Hackensack in New Jersey . The station's slogan is “ The Talk of New York ”. The owner is the evangelical Salem Media Group . WNYM is an affiliate of Fox News Radio .

history

The station went on the air in 1926 and is now owned by the Salem Media Group .

As WAAT, licensed in Newark, the station went on air in 1926 on MW 1270 kHz. the founder was Frank V. Bremer, owner of the Bremen Broadcasting Company. After several frequency changes, the station landed in 1941 on the frequency 970 kHz, which has been in use since then, as set out in the North American Regional Broadcasting Agreement. In 1947 Bremer started the FM counterpart WAAT-FM (94.7 MHz, today WNSH ) and in the following years the television station WATV on channel 13.

1951 the station was at Irving Rosenhaus. The music format was changed to a middle of the road format, as happened at many stations in the 1950s. a. at WNEW , WOR and WCBS . WAAT later broadcast the first country music format in the New York Area.
