WR 31a is a Wolf-Rayet star in the constellation Kiel des Schiff in the southern sky . The bubble was formed about 20,000 years ago and is expanding at a rate of about 220,000 kilometers per hour.
It was initially suspected that it is also a planetary nebula , which, according to recent studies, is not the case.
