WTHU is a Christian talk radio based in Thurmont , Maryland . The station serves Frederick and Frederick County , Maryland. WTHU is owned and operated by the Christian Radio Coalition , Inc. It transmits an AM stereo signal with 0.5 k W at MW 1450 k Hz .
WTHU started operations in 1967 and broadcast Orioles Games and Adult Contemporary . It was the last 100 watt full-time station to be licensed by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). In the 1970s, the station was sold to its current owners for $ 150,000.
