WY Records is a record label founded by the well-known reggaeton duo Wisin y Yandel in 2005 . It belongs to the labels Machete Music and Universal Music Group .

Artist

  • Franco "El Gorila", also known as La Maquina de Guerra.
  • Gadiel Veguilla Malavé, is also called El General . He is a former member of the Gadiel & Lobo duo and also the little brother of Yandel.
  • Jayko, also known as El Prototipo.
  • Jowell y Randy, The duo is known under the names "Los del Momento", Los más Sueltos del Reggaeton and "La Jota y La Nota".
  • Tico "El Inmigrante", in English 'The Immigrant' because of his Venezuelan origins.
  • Wisin y Yandel, also called El Dúo de la Historia and El Dúo Dinámico. They are also the founders of the label.
  • Yaviah, is also called El Gato. He was originally under contract with Pina Records .
  • Yomille Omar "El Tío" has only recently been signed back to WY Records. He was already on the 2006 album Los Vaqueros , but left the label soon after due to differences and did not return until spring 2009.

Debate with Baby Records

The media war in 2006 with the music label Baby Records, which was founded by the artists Zion & Lennox, caused a stir. The main trigger was the differences between the WY Records musician Franco "El Gorila" and the singer Arcángel, who was still under contract with Baby Records at the time. This was followed by the publication of several so-called tiraeras (comparable to the English slang term disstrack ) between the parties involved.
