Wachthubel is the name of a north-east facing mountain ledge near Aeschiried in the municipality of Aeschi bei Spiez in the former Frutigen district of the Swiss canton of Bern , as well as the hamlet on the same ledge.
There used to be a high watch on the Wachthubel , as the current name still indicates. It is a combination with the word Hubel , 'elevation', which is still widespread in western German-speaking Switzerland , as a trailing element.
