Watchtower (Morsleben)
The watchtower near Morsleben in Saxony-Anhalt is a listed watchtower . It was one of the border installations erected by the GDR along the inner-German border with the Federal Republic of Germany .
The tower is about three kilometers west of the village of Morsleben near Bundesstraße 1 . The tower made of concrete slabs served as an observation tower ( B tower ) and was functionally related to the nearby Marienborn border crossing point .
The tower is currently (as of 2010) in need of renovation.
