Waldensian Church Neureut

The Waldensian Church is the church building of the Protestant parish Neureut-Süd in the Karlsruhe district of Neureut .

In 1699 the municipality of Welschneureut was founded by Margrave Friedrich Magnus for the reception of religious refugees from the south of France. A first prayer room built as a wooden structure was destroyed in 1707 and rebuilt in half-timbered in 1720 by the master carpenter Dold . From 1749 to 1751 (dated at the main entrance), Johann Heinrich Arnold built today's church building as a plastered building with sandstone walls and corner pilasters. The ridge turret of the demolished church was replaced over the gable.

After it was destroyed in the Second World War , the exterior of the church was rebuilt with the addition of a gable-sided bell tower in the form of the Weinbrenner style. An inscription in the tower room has been preserved: "Bien heureux sont ceux, qui ouent la parole de Dieu et la gardent" (Luke 11, 28).
