Waldfrieden (Rodeberg)

Waldfrieden is a residential area in the municipality of Rodeberg in the Unstrut-Hainich district in Thuringia .

At the northernmost edge of the Hainich and the Mühlhausen city forest , the property is located between Eigenrieden and Pfafferode, immediately south of the federal highway 249 leading to Mühlhausen in the forest. Opposite is the Peterhof. The Schlößchenquelle is located at an altitude of approx. 360 m at the beginning of the valley of the Pfafferöder Steingraben . The place is the starting point for hikers and skiers in the northern part of Hainich.

history

Around 1900 today's buildings were built as a restaurant. It served as the Reichsbahn rest home from the 1950s to the late 1980s . Assisted living has been available in Waldfrieden since 1995. It is also an excursion destination with a restaurant.
