Waldhausen is a parish village in the municipality of Schnaitsee in the northern district of Traunstein (Bavaria).

history

The place Waldhausen is first documented between 987 and 1025. The Waldhauser parish church is consecrated to St. Martin and has St. Sebastian as a minor saint. It was rebuilt in 1950 after the late Middle Ages Gothic church was demolished. Only the tower remained standing.

The formerly independent municipality was dissolved on January 1, 1978 in the course of the municipal reorganization of Bavaria and incorporated into Schnaitsee .

coat of arms

Waldhausen coat of arms
Blazon : "A silver (white) house in blue in front of two golden (yellow) trees."
Justification of the coat of arms: The coat of arms awarded by the Bavarian State Ministry in 1965 is a typical example of a talking coat of arms ; the trees stand for the forest part of the name and the house for the ending "hausen".
