The forest park Phu Khao Fai Kradong ( Thai : วนอุทยาน ภูเขาไฟ กระโดง , in English usage: Phu Khao Fi Kradong Forest Park , or Khao Kradong Forest Park ) is a forest reserve in the northeast of Thailand , the so-called Isan .
history
The Phu Khao Fai Kradong was officially declared a protected area of Thailand on October 1st, 1993.
geography
The Phu Khao Fai Kradong extends over the communities: I San, Samet and Sawai Chik in the district ( Amphoe ) Mueang Buri Ram of the Buri Ram province .
The Phu Khao Fai Kradong covers a total area of 1,450 Rai , this corresponds to 2.32 km². The forest park is located in a highland area with a series of medium-sized hills. The park is located at an altitude between 50 and 1,000 meters. The forest park gets its character from two smaller mountains, the Khao Kradong and Khao Yai, as well as the two reservoirs Charake Mak and Huay Talad.
Flora and fauna
The forest complex, which consists of mixed forests and dry dipterocarp forests, is home to a variety of different tropical plant species and a number of wild animals live there.
