Amphoe Mueang Buri Ram ( Thai อำเภอ เมือง บุรีรัมย์ ) is a district ( amphoe ) in the center of Buri Ram Province . The province of Buri Ram is located in the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

geography

Buri Ram is located on the southern edge of the Khorat plateau , which is extremely dry in the hot season and flooded in the rainy season . The distance to the capital Bangkok is about 400 kilometers.

Neighboring counties are (clockwise from the south): the Amphoe Prakhon Chai , Nang Rong , Chamni , Lam Plai Mat , Khu Mueang , Ban Dan , Huai Rat and Krasang . All Amphoe are in Buri Ram Province.
