Amphoe Phutthaisong ( Thai : อำเภอ พุทไธสง ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the north of the province of Buri Ram . The province of Buri Ram is located in the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

Neighboring districts (clockwise from south): Amphoe Khu Mueang in Buri Ram Province, Amphoe Mueang Yang in Nakhon Ratchasima Province , Amphoe Ban Mai Chaiyaphot in Buri Ram, Amphoe Nong Song Hong in Khon Kaen Province , Amphoe Na Pho in Buri Ram, the Amphoe Yang Sisurat and Phayakkhaphum Phisai in Maha Sarakham Province and Amphoe Chumphon Buri in Surin Province .
