Amphoe Lahan Sai ( Thai : อำเภอ ละหานทราย ) is a district ( amphoe - administrative district) in the southern part of Buri Ram Province . The province of Buri Ram is located in the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

geography

Neighboring districts (from southwest clockwise): Amphoe Ta Phraya in Sa Kaeo Province and Amphoe Non Din Daeng , Pakham , Nang Rong , Chaloem Phra Kiat , Prakhon Chai and Ban Kruat in Buri Ram Province. In the southeast, Lahan Sai borders the Oddar Meanchey Province of Cambodia .

history

The area of today's Lahan Sai was originally part of the Amphoe Nang Rong , it was a fertile area and consisted of dense forest. That is why settlers from the neighboring districts settled here. As the settlement grew, on January 1, 1961, the government established a "branch circle" ( King Amphoe ) . The new district at that time consisted of the tambon Lahan Sai and Pakham. It was promoted to Amphoe on July 17, 1963.

Local administration

There are five municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

Nong Takhrong (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล หนอง ตะครอง ) consists of the whole Tambon Nong Takhrong.
Lahan Sai (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ละหานทราย ) consists of parts of the Tambon Lahan Sai.
Ta Chong (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ตา จง ) consists of the whole tambon Ta Chong.
Nong Waeng (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล หนอง แวง ) consists of the whole tambon Nong Waeng.
Samrong Mai (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล สำโรง ใหม่ ) consists of the whole Tambon Samrong Mai.

The remaining parts of the tambon Lahan Sai, which do not belong to the city, and the whole tambon Khok Wan are powered by a " Tambon Administration Organization (" องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organization, TAO) managed.
