Amphoe Ta Phraya ( Thai : อำเภอ ตาพระยา ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the north of the province of Sa Kaeo . The province of Sa Kaeo is located in the eastern region of Thailand on the border with Cambodia , but is administratively counted to central Thailand .

Amphoe Ta Phraya is bounded by the following Amphoe (clockwise from the south): Amphoe Khok Sung and Watthana Nakhon in Sa Kaeo Province and Amphoe Non Din Daeng and Lahan Sai in Buriram Province . To the east the province lies Banteay Meanchey of Cambodia .

history

The area of ​​Ta Phraya used to be made up of dense jungle . At that time it belonged to the Aranyaprathet district . Later the forest was partly cleared to make space for fields. As the peasant settlement grew, the government established the "Branch District" ( King Amphoe ) Ta Phraya in 1959 . Ta Phraya was promoted to Amphoe in 1963.
