Amphoe Khao Chakan ( Thai : อำเภอ เขา ฉกรรจ์ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the west of the province of Sa Kaeo . The province of Sa Kaeo is located in the eastern region of Thailand on the border with Cambodia , but is administratively counted to central Thailand .

Amphoe Khao Chakan is delimited by the following amphoe (clockwise from the north): Amphoe Mueang Sa Kaeo , Watthana Nakhon , Khlong Hat and Wang Nam Yen in Sa Kaeo Province and Amphoe Tha Takiap in Chachoengsao Province .
history
Khao Chakan was initially set up on April 30, 1994 as a “branch circle” ( King Amphoe ) by separating four tambon from the Mueang Sa Kaeo district . On October 11, 1997, Khao Chakan was granted full amphoe status.

There are also four " tambon administration organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO)
- Khao Chakan (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล เขา ฉกรรจ์ ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Khao Chakan.
- Nong Wa (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล หนอง หว้า ) consisting of the complete Tambon Nong Wa.
- Phra Phloeng (Thai: องค์การ บริหารส่วน ตำบล พระ เพลิง ) consisting of the complete Tambon Phra Phloeng.
- Khao Sam Sip (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล เขา สามสิบ ) consisting of the complete Tambon Khao Sam Sip.
