Amphoe Wang Sombun ( Thai : อำเภอ วัง สมบูรณ์ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the southwest of the province of Sa Kaeo . The province of Sa Kaeo is located in the eastern region of Thailand on the border with Cambodia , but is administratively counted to central Thailand .

Amphoe Wang Sombun is bounded by the following Amphoe (clockwise from the north): Wang Nam Yen and Khlong Hat in Sa Kaeo Province, Soi Dao and Kaeng Hang Maeo in Chanthaburi Province and Tha Takiap in Province Chachoengsao .
history
Wang Sombun was initially set up on July 1, 1997 as a "branch circle" ( King Amphoe ) by separating three tambon from the Wang Nam Yen district .
On May 15, 2007 the Thai government decided to raise all 81 King Amphoe to simple amphoe status in order to unify the administration. With the publication in the Royal Gazette "Issue 124 chapter 46" on August 24, 2007 this decision officially entered into force.

The district of Wang Sombun is divided into three tambon ("sub-districts" or "communities"), which are further subdivided into 48 muban ("villages").

Local administration
There are two municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:
- Wang Thong (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล วังทอง ) consisting of the complete tambon Wang Thong.
- Wang Sombun (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล วัง สมบูรณ์ ) consisting of the complete tambon Wang Sombun.
There is also a " Tambon Administration Organization " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organization, TAO)
- Wang Mai (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล วัง ใหม่ ) consisting of the complete tambon Wang Mai.
