Apoteket Storken (German: Stork Pharmacy ) is a pharmacy in the district of Östermalm in Stockholm . The building was constructed from 1897 to 1899 based on a design by the architect Hans Jacob Hallström. In the house is the Storchen pharmacy with the original furnishings from 1899. According to the assessment of the Riksantikvarieämbetet ( Reichsantiquaramt ), the pharmacy is the most valuable culturally and historically in Sweden . The name "Storch" for a pharmacy in Sweden is unusual, in 2005 there were only five pharmacies with this name.

The pharmacy business was started by the owner Ingemar Kersfeldt on April 1, 1898, and at the same time the gilded stork with a snake in its beak was fastened over the entrance. The culturally and historically valuable facility was designed by the carpenter Carl Fredrik Allard and made by the carpenter Petter Nilsson. The material consists of rosewood , ebony and jakaranda . The style is neo-renaissance with neo-Gothic elements. The glass ceiling was painted by the German artist Fritz Rosenthal and depicts allegories of health and illness as well as life and death. Busts and portrait medallions show well-known doctors and researchers. The walls are lined with imitation Kolmården marble. The shelves of the sales room are true to the original with items from the early days of the pharmacy, along with modern packaging and equipment.
