Amphoe Ban Mai Chaiyaphot ( Thai อำเภอ บ้าน ใหม่ ไชย พจน์ ) is a district ( Amphoe - Administrative District) in the north of Buri Ram Province . The province of Buri Ram is located in the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

Neighboring districts (clockwise from east): Phutthaisong district in Buri Ram province, Mueang Yang and Prathai district in Nakhon Ratchasima province, and Nong Song Hong district in Khon Kaen province .

history

Ban Mai Chaiyaphot was initially set up as a subdistrict ( King Amphoe ) on April 1, 1992 by separating five tambon from Phutthaisong Amphoe . On October 11, 1997, it was promoted to Amphoe.
