Valeria Michailowna Sorokina ( Russian Валерия Михайловна Сорокина , English transcription Valeria Sorokina ; born March 29, 1984 in Resheticha , Gorki Oblast , Russian SFSR , USSR ) is a Russian badminton player .
Career
Valeria Sorokina is one of the most successful Russian badminton players. She won the only European badminton title for Russia so far together with Nina Wislowa in women's doubles. She won other international titles in Scotland, the USA, Wales, Sweden, Belgium, Finland and Italy, among others. In 2012 both won the women's doubles and she also won the women's singles at the Russia Open . At the 2012 Olympic Games in London, she won the bronze medal in doubles with Nina Wislowa .
