Walking on Cars is a four-piece Irish alternative rock - band from Dingle , consisting of Patrick Sheehy, Sorcha Durham, Paul Flannery and Evan Hadnett. Her debut album Everything This Way climbed to the top of the Irish album charts .
history
The band was founded in 2010 by five school friends. The group started out performing in small pubs and clubs in their hometown of Dingle , County Kerry . In order to fully concentrate on their musical careers, the five rented a house on the Dingle Peninsula and locked themselves in it. There they wrote their first pieces and immediately recorded demos. “The house that we rented was a pretty old cottage, in which we had no TV, no cell phone, no internet and no connection to the outside world,” says Sorcha. “We lived there for 6 months - just our equipment and we. It was a wonderful time, the ideas literally flowed to us. "
In 2012 Walking on Cars won the Redbull Bedroom Jam 2012 Competition. As a result, her debut single, Catch Me If You Can, was featured on many radio stations. The song then rose to number 27 on the Irish charts and stayed there for over 20 weeks. This made the band nationally known for the first time. Catch Me If You Can reached number 1 on the Irish iTunes charts and quickly garnered over 450,000 views on YouTube. The band's second single, Two Stones , reached number 12 on the Irish charts and was viewed well over 1 million on YouTube.
The band released their first EP As We Fly South in 2013. It was recorded in Attica Studios, Donegal and produced by Tom McFall ( REM , Snow Patrol , Bloc Party ).
In spring 2016, the band made their breakthrough in Germany. Her single Speeding Cars rose to number 18 in the German single charts . On May 6, 2016, the band Everything This Way released their debut album on the Virgin EMI Records label in Germany.
In June 2016 the band performed at the Rock am Ring music festival and was also featured on the TV program Circus Halligalli .
