Sanctuary of Agios Adrianos

The pilgrimage church of Agios Adrianos ( Greek Εκκλησάκι του Αγίου Αδριανού ) is located on a hill about one kilometer east of the village of Agios Adrianos in the Argolis . It is located south of the road to Profitis Ilias. The church is considered to be miraculous. Many childless couples from all over Greece come here to ask for children .

The church was built in 1753 as a single-nave church with a barrel vault . In the middle a higher transept was built, giving the church a cross shape. According to the inscription, the frescoes were executed in 1753 by the monk painter Jeremias. The church was twice affected by fire.

The frescoes depict scenes from the life of Christ, the Lord's Supper, the Flight into Egypt and the Crucifixion. In addition, the two saints Theodore , Charalambos, Euthymios and Peter are shown. On the iconostasis is the icon of St. Adrian ( Greek Άγιος Αδριανός = Agios Adrianos) behind glass.
