The pilgrimage church Maria Schnee is the Roman Catholic village church of Kirchbrunn , a district of the municipality of Heldenstein in Upper Bavaria .

history

The church was built between 1760 and 1762 on the orders of Provost Patritius Zwick von Au. It was consecrated in 1762 by the Salzburg Prince-Bishop Sigismund von Schrattenbach . In 1984 it was extensively restored.

description

Maria Schnee is a small, late baroque central building. The retracted choir consists of an irregularly curved apse . The north and south sides of the main room are curved. Its walls are structured by indented pillars with Corinthian pilasters in front . It is covered by a hollow vault with stitch caps .

The facade of the church and the ridge turret on the west side are structured with pilaster strips . The bell storey is octagonal in shape and is closed off by a typical baroque onion dome.

A little further, down the asphalt road, there is the covered “spring” and a crucifix.
