Wally Salieu Ndow

Wally Salieu Ndow (born April 12, 1943 in Bansang ) is a Gambian administrative officer in Gambia and at the United Nations.

Life

Ndow was with the Gambia Government from 1970 to 1977 as Director of Animal Health & Production. Then until 1981 as secretary co-ordinator.

From 1981 to 1985 he worked in the regional office of the United Nations in Burkina Faso as head of the United Nations Office in the Sahel, UN Sahelian Office (UNSO, today United Nations Office for West Africa and the Sahel , UNOWAS). From 1985 to 1986 he was head of the United Nations Office of Emergency Operations in Africa (UN Office of Emergency Operations in Africa) in New York. Then from 1986 he was head of the East Africa Department, UNSO, at the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in New York. From 1987 to 1988 he was chief executive of the Regional Office for Africa, UNDP. In 1988 Ndow was appointed UN-based coordinator and representative of UNDP in the Central African Republic. He held this position until 1992.
