Walter Bullock

Walter Bullock (born May 6, 1907 in Shelburn , Sullivan County , Indiana , † July 13, 1953 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American composer , songwriter and screenwriter .

Life

Bullock graduated from DePauw University ( BA ) and joined ASCAP in 1936 . He received a total of two Oscar nominations, the first in 1937 for the song When Did You Leave Heaven and the second in 1941 for the song Who Am I? . Bullock usually only wrote individual titles and songs for the soundtrack of the films. He also worked as a screenwriter from 1940.

In 1950 he wrote the musical Great to Be Alive with Sylvia Regan ! which was performed at the Winter Garden Theater in New York .

He is the great-uncle of actor S. Scott Bullock.
