Walter Conrad (trade unionist)

Walter Conrad (born February 22, 1921 ) is a former German trade unionist ( FDGB ). From 1949 to 1950 he was a member of the People's Council of the Soviet Zone and the Provisional People's Chamber of the GDR .

Life

Conrad did six years of military service as a soldier in the Wehrmacht during the Second World War . After the war he became a member of the Free German Trade Union Federation (FDGB) and worked as a leather cutter in the VEB Goldpunkt shoe factory in Berlin .

From May 1949 he was a member of the 2nd German People's Council with the mandate of the FDGB and from October 1949 to November 1950 a member of the Provisional People's Chamber of the GDR.
