Walter Drechsel

Walter Drechsel (born April 7, 1902 in Pirna ; † December 20, 1977 in Baden-Baden ) was a German engineer , entrepreneur and politician ( FDP ).

Life and work

After graduating from high school, Drechsel began studying engineering at the Technical University of Dresden , which he completed in 1925 with an examination as a graduate engineer. During his studies he became a member of the Corps Thuringia Dresden . After graduating, he worked in the paper industry. From 1929 to 1932 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Textile and Paper Technology at the TH Dresden, where he did his doctorate in engineering. and then acted as a technical appraiser in an expert committee of the paper industry. In 1935 he moved to the paper surveillance office in Berlin . From 1938 to 1945 he was managing director of the paper production specialist group.

From 1946 Drechsel was managing director and factory director of R. Rube & Co. GmbH , a parchment factory with printing and paper processing in Weende .

MP

Drechsel had been a council member of the Weende community and district council member of the Göttingen district since 1948 . He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1953 to 1957. In parliament he represented the constituency of Göttingen - Münden .
