Walter Fiedler (politician)

Walter Fiedler (born August 2, 1944 in Görlitz ) is a German politician of the ( CDU ) and former member of the People's Chamber and the German Bundestag .

Life

Fiedler spent his school days in Oranienbaum and Seehausen (Altmark) . In 1963 he passed his Abitur. From 1964 to 1970 he studied at the Medical Faculty of the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena. In 1975 he qualified as a specialist in anesthesiology and intensive care medicine. He then worked from 1976 at the Osterburg-Seehausen District Hospital (Altmark) until 1984 as a senior physician. At the same time, from 1981 onwards, Fiedler headed the Rapid Medical Aid of the Osterburg district and the rescue center at the Seehäuser Hospital. He was appointed Medical Councilor for his commitment. The former district hospital Seehausen-Osterburg is now the Agaplesion Diakoniekrankenhaus Seehausen. Until December 31, 2009, he was the head of the department for anesthesia and intensive therapy. He also held the position of medical director of the Seehausen emergency doctor base until December 31, 2011. In 1990 he was a co-founder of the AGSHN (Association of Emergency Doctors in Saxony-Anhalt), of which he was chairman until 1996. He is currently a board member of AGSHN.

politics

Fiedler had been a member of the GDR CDU since 1974 . In that year he became city councilor of Seehausen. 1984 moved as a member of the CDU to 1989 in the Osterburg district assembly. On March 18, 1990, he stood as a candidate for the CDU for the first free Volkskammer elections. Fiedler moved into parliament and was then one of the 144 MPs who moved into the Bundestag on October 3, 1990.

He is currently a member of the city council of the Hanseatic city of Seehausen.
