Walter Guglielmone , full name Walter Fernando Guglielmone Gómez , (born April 11, 1978 in Salto ) is a Uruguayan football player.
Career
society
The 1.82-meter-tall offensive player Guglielmone is the half-brother of Edinson Cavanis . He started his career at Nacional Montevideo . There he completed three games (one goal) in the Primera División in the 1999 season . In the 2000 season, 33 Premier League appearances for Frontera Rivera Chico followed ; he scored 15 hits. In the following year he appeared in 34 games in the Primera División for the Montevideo Wanderers and was again accurate with 16 league goals. In 2002 a new career station followed at Nacional Montevideo, but was only used twice (no goal) in Uruguay's top division during that season. In the 2002/03 season he played for the French club AC Ajaccio and ran 17 times (one goal) on the Corsican in Ligue 1 . In 2003 he played again for Nacional after his return to Uruguay. In 2004 he was under contract with Danubio FC . This was followed by two positions in Mexico at CF Pachuca and Chiapas FC in the 2004/05 season . 2005/06 he is listed as a player for Club Atlético Peñarol . In the 2006/07 season he was under contract with the Uruguayan first division club Liverpool Montevideo .
In 2007 he became the first Latin American to join the Azerbaijani club İnter Baku . There he was with the team in May 2008 Azerbaijani champion. For the Azerbaijanis, he played 45 league games in the 2007/08 and 2008/09 seasons and scored 28 goals. In the following season he played 22 league games (two goals) for Neftçi Baku . In 2010 he completed 13 first division matches (three goals) for the Paraguayan club Club Guaraní . In mid-January 2011 he moved from there again to the Montevideo Wanderers. There, in July 2011, his expiring contract was not extended after 14 first division appearances (three goals). The Esporte Clube Pelotas from Brazil was his next employer from January 2012 at the latest. Also in 2012, he played in China for Beijing Institute of Technology FC . In 2015 he will be back in the ranks of the Brazilian Pelotas club.
National team
Guglielmone made his debut on July 19, 2001 as part of the Copa America 2001 in the 0-1 group game defeat against Honduras under Víctor Púa with a starting eleven in the Uruguayan senior team . His second and so far last appearance was on July 29, 2001. The opponent was again the Honduran national team in the game for third place, which they lost 4-5 on penalties.
