Walter Hauser (politician, 1922)

Walter Hauser (born August 18, 1922 in Vienna ; † January 22, 2017 there ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ). From 1962 to 1983 he was a member of the Austrian National Council .

Life

Hauser attended a humanistic grammar school after primary school and then studied law and political science at the University of Vienna . From October 1940 to July 1941 he was a member of the National Socialist Motor Corps (NSKK) . In 1947 he received his doctorate as Dr. iur. and joined the Federal Chamber of Commerce in the same year . He worked there as the secretary of the industrial section and, among other things, led collective bargaining agreements with trade unions and associations. His main areas of work included labor and social security law as well as industrial social policy.

Hauser was sworn in for the first time as a member of the National Council on December 14, 1962 and was active as a judicial spokesman within the ÖVP parliamentary club. Because of this function, he was also active in the Judicial Committee, where he headed the committee between 1966 and 1970. Hauser left the National Council at short notice on June 24, 1970, but was sworn in again as a National Council on October 19, 1970. Hauser was a member of the National Council until May 18, 1983.
