Walter Hellmich (football official)

Walter Georg Hellmich (born March 24, 1944 in Duisburg - Hamborn ) is a German football functionary and building contractor.

1968 took over Hellmich by his parents as the transportation company Hellmich group of companies . In 1970, the "Hellmich construction company" was founded. In 1973 he was elected President of the Dinslaken Tennis Association Blau-Weiss eV. From July 3, 2002 to October 1, 2010 Hellmich was chairman of the board of MSV Duisburg . From 2003 to 2004 he had the old Wedau stadium converted into the new MSV arena . During his presidency he was promoted to the Bundesliga twice . Hellmich came under fire in May 2013 after the MSV was unable to provide any evidence of economic performance for the 2013/2014 season.

Hellmich received the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon in 1997 and the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class in 2009 . He is married and has two children.
