The Hellmich group of companies was founded in 1932. The family business was expanded into a Germany-wide group after 1968 under the management of today's CEO Walter Hellmich . At the end of the 1960s and in the course of the 1970s, the company participated in motorway projects in the civil engineering , road and bridge construction sectors .

In the 1980s, the company expanded its range of services to include industrial, structural and turnkey construction as well as plantable noise protection.

In the stadium construction industry, the Veltins-Arena on Schalke, the MSV-Arena in Duisburg, the Millerntor-Stadion on St. Pauli, the New Tivoli in Aachen, the Brita-Arena in Wiesbaden and the Audi-Sportpark in Ingolstadt were built.
