Walter Heyn (* unknown) was a director and interior designer at Deutsche Werkstätten AG in Dresden - Hellerau (DeWe).

Life

After graduating, he became a member of the Deutscher Werkbund in 1929 and succeeded the founder of DeWe, Karl Schmidt . The Heyn Organization, created in 1943 by the Reich Aviation Ministry , responsible for the use of wood in aircraft construction, bore his name.

After the end of the Second World War, the Deutsche Werkstätten in Dresden-Hellerau were placed under trust, later as VEB, head: Walter Heyn. The "Heyn Organization" went bankrupt and was dissolved in 1946 through an out-of-court settlement. In 1952, Walter Heyn made contacts with the furniture factory Wilkening & Hahne (later Wilkhahn in Bad Münster near Hanover) as head of the Deutsche Werkstätten and supplied the designs for the DeWe furniture collection for the production of the West German partner.
