Walter Hildebrand

Walter Hildebrand (born September 6, 1941 in Krössbach, Neustift im Stubaital / Tirol) is an Austrian architect .

Life

Walter Hildebrand is a graduate of the Graz University of Technology and runs an independent architecture office in Vienna. Since 1980 he has also been a state authorized and sworn civil engineer . Hildebrand has implemented over 70 architectural projects in seven countries, including residential, industrial and administrative buildings. He was best known for the renovation of architectural monuments. He was responsible for the restoration of several monasteries. One of the larger projects was Kartause Gaming , which he acquired from Melk Abbey in 1983 . A university (European Campus of the Franciscan University of Ohio USA) was installed there. In addition, a hotel with 300 beds and several restaurants as well as function rooms for seminars, in connection with a church, which was restored, in which the grave of Duke Albrecht II of Austria, his wife Johanna von Pfirt and his daughter-in-law Elisabeth of Bohemia were restored in 1986 . From 1998 to 2006 he worked on the revitalization of the listed Petronell Castle . Today he is the managing director of Internationale Consulting und Architektur ZT GmbH .

Since 1994 he has been the general consul of the Slovak Republic for Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland (now retired).

He was the present of the Austrian Emirates Society (PAN) for 10 years

Walter Hildebrand is married to Primrose Hildebrand (née Murphy) from Jersey and has 4 children and 9 grandchildren.

  • 2008 honorary citizenship of the municipality of Gaming
  • Honorary citizenship of the Rèpublique Francaise - Ville de Ferrette
