Walter Josef Mayr (born October 1, 1943 in Traunstein ) was for many years the deputy mayor of the city of Kufstein , an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and councilor of the city of Kufstein (ÖVP)

Education and career

Business school, apprenticeship as a wholesale and foreign trade merchant, officer training (rocket school of the army in Eschweiler), Master of Business Administration (MBA), academic business organizer (academic BO). From 1965 to 1974 Mayr was managing director of a plumbing and heating wholesaler in Kufstein, from 1974 an independent entrepreneur in Kufstein and from 1981 to 1989 managing director of the branch of an international industrial group in Vienna.

From 1987 to 1989 he was a member of the town council of Kufstein. From 1987 to 2004 he was deputy chairman and chairman of the ÖWB . From 2004-2007 member of the board of the Kufstein waste management association. From 03/2010 to 06/2011 member of the review committee of the Kufstein district hospital and chairman of the Kufstein wastewater association. From 1992 to 2010 Mayr was Deputy Mayor of Kufstein and from 2010 to April 2011 City Councilor of the City of Kufstein ( ÖVP ). During his time as a political mandate, Mayr exercised functions as chairman of the economic committee and as an economic, finance, construction and transport consultant.

He is the founder of the association for international technical college courses and further education in Kufstein and chairman from 1995 to 2011, idea generator and co-developer of FH courses (IBS, FMIM, SKVM, WI, EEW, UF), founder and sponsor of the technical college Kufstein Tirol and from 1997 to 2002 founding managing director of FHS Kufstein Tirol Bildungs ​​GmbH. Founder of the Alumni Club of the FH Kufstein (honorary membership ceremony June 20, 2009). In April 2011, after a total of 21 years (18 of which as Vice Mayor), Mayr retires from city politics and resigns from his functions as a local councilor and at the Kufstein University of Applied Sciences. The focus of his work is now in the family company WMC-Haustechnik Handels- & Service GmbH, the non-profit organization Euregio Inntal-Chiemsee-Kaisergebirge-Mangfalltal and other voluntary functions.
