Walter Krauchi

Walter Kräuchi (born June 5, 1913 in Subingen ; † June 3, 1996 in Olten ) was a Swiss politician ( SP ).

From 1943 to 1946, Kräuchi was the Zurich SP cantonal councilor and from 1946 to 1948 cantonal union secretary in Solothurn . From 1948 to 1973 Kräuchi was editor-in-chief of the newspaper Das Volk , the forerunner of the Solothurn AZ . From 1953 to 1957 he was councilor of Olten and from 1949 to 1953 and from 1961 to 1973 Solothurn Cantonal Councilor , and in 1970 its president. For eight years he was also president of the Social Democratic Party in Olten.
