Short biography

Walter Lederer was born in Schönbach / Asch in the Egerland in 1923 and came overseas in 1946 as a student of the art professor Willi Geiger. Walter Lederer found the ideal environment for his professional creativity at Chiemsee. Walter Lederer first took part in the "Great Art Exhibition" in the Haus der Kunst in Munich in 1949 . He was a juror there for decades. In 1949 he was awarded the ERP Prize in Hof. This was only the first prize of several (see awards). Even in old age, Walter Lederer let his creativity run free and continued to make pictures.

Countless exhibitions at home and abroad made it possible for the public to gain an insight into the results of his work, but works by Walter Lederer can also be found in well-known museums. Further exhibitions of the Chiemgau painter took place after 2003.
